So Kai’s tractor birthday party has come and gone and I have to admit, I am a little sad. It was such a great party, and not because of anything except the pure joy and excitement on my little man’s face. He had so much fun, but boy was he exhausted! I never realized how much fun a kid’s birthday party could be until I had my own child and got to experience it from a parent’s point of view. Knowing your child feels so special and that this day was all for him and getting to play a huge part in that is humbling. Thank you so much to everyone who came! Hopefully you all had a great time as well and enjoyed some good food (my dad makes the best hamburgers!). We appreciated it so much and are so thankful for each and every one of you!

This is the awesome front end loader that Mike Martin of the Rodman Construction area off of FM 2931, was so gracious to bring over for the party. (Everyone should go buy dirt and mulch and landscape stone from this guy by the way!) This guy was amazing…had the thing detailed for the party and it was incredible. It was HUGE too…the pictures don’t do it justice.
He wouldn’t take a dime for it either and he sacrificed part of his Saturday to drive it over and back. He has no idea what a blessing it was to us. Malakai was in total awe. It was priceless.

Someone should have told the pregnant lady not to wear horizontal stripes when you’re 35 weeks pregnant.

My little John Deere.

Oh, how he loved that thing! It’s funny how when your kids love something so much it makes you love it too! I wanted to keep that loader!! I thought it was awesome!

Precious Jacob!

Beautiful Gracie!

Our attempt to get a group shot in the scoop! This was the best one if that tells you anything. We couldn’t keep them all sitting or looking at once, go figure!

Weston was after that John Deere hat!

Adorable Abby!

My sweet, precious nephew, Weston. What a ham!! He was cracking us up in these pics! And look at K

Ok, so I went nuts over this cake! I LOVED it! Maybe more than Malakai did…however, he did go pretty crazy over it! Heather Hancock made this and she did a seriously amazing job! She is super talented at what she does. Everyone should order a cake from her for your next special occasion….click on her name to check out some of her other cakes.

This was the best part of the entire day. We were singing “Happy Birthday” to him here and when he heard his name, he got the biggest smile on his face and looked at his Daddy as if to say, “Daddy, they said my name!” It was one of those priceless moments. He realized it was his turn for a birthday and his tractor birthday (that we had been talking about for months) was finally here!! The look on his face said that at that moment, he felt special, and it made all the presents, the cake, the huge loader, etc. pale in comparison to that little moment.

LOVE those sweet chubby cheeks!

That is one tired face!!!

My little John Deere…in his own little world.

Watching his balloon fly away after he let it go.

Watching the loader drive away….guess the party’s over : (

Bye bye loader. : (
