Hey guys! I have recently decided to simplify and downsize my photography business for a while.  Being a stay-at-home mom to two boys under the age of 3 is more than enough responsibility for me right now! My first priority is to my family, and I know that this time in my life as well as in theirs is going to fly by all too quickly and I want more than anything to cherish each moment with them and enjoy them at each little stage of their precious lives. So that being said, I’m just going to be a mommy for a while and spend my free time (yeah right) doing some things that I have neglected over the past several years.  I have lots of ideas and things up my sleeves that I’m super excited about, but in reality, who knows if they will ever move past my overcrowded brain into something actually tangible. We’ll see…

I’m still going to be shooting here and there and may even schedule some mini-sessions every now and then as well.  I will also still be shooting 5-6 weddings per year, so feel free to continue to contact me with wedding and portrait inquiries.  Depending on what’s going on in my life, I may or may not accept….I dont’ mean that rudely, I just want to keep things simple and not get overworked and stressed out.  Because I truly do love photography, it is always difficult for me to say no.

That all being said, I am offering up some services as a way to make a little side money.  I will be offering MINI-CONSULTS over the phone. These can be 30min, an hour, or an hour and a half and we can talk about any and every photography related question you want to talk about and hopefully, I can be of some help. The cost for these phone sessions is: 30 min-$50; 1-hr-$90; 1 1/2-hr-$ 130

Does anyone ever go to my website? I’m thinking about doing away with it b/c I wonder what the point is of having a website and a blog, especially when my most up-to-date stuff is on my blog. I’m just thinking it’s becoming a waste of time and money.  Any thoughts?

To say this family is cute is a complete understatement.  Not only are they cute, they’ve got style! (I wish they could share some of that with me!) I had a really great time shooting their family pictures. Quinn did great and is totally adorable!  I loved watching him point at the trucks and cars and how much he loves his little football—reminded me of my little guy! : )

Brittney, I know you’ve been waiting patiently for these pictures, so I hope they are worth the wait! Thank you guys for letting me do this for you! I had a blast and it was great to reconnect a little as well! Truly, you guys are pure joy!

an exerpt from a book I’m reading on parenting the toddler years:

Ah yes, the mobile toddler.  There is no question that a toddler’s mom is a tired mom, and for good reason.  The emotional and physical energy needed to supervise an energy-packed tot can take down the most physically fit mom.  If your toddler happens to be a boy, add fifty percent more energy.  Never so beautiful does this child look to his weary mom as he does when he closes his eyes in sleep.”

I had originally decided not to do Christmas cards this year because of a busy winter wedding season, but I’ve had several people ask, so I decided to come up with an alternative plan! On Saturday, November 8th, I am blocking off three hours 9:00am—12:00 and will be booking families for mini-portrait sessions.  Each family will have a 15-20 minute shoot and the location is still TBD.  I had originally intended to keep it at 10 families minimum, but all spots filled up pretty quickly, so I decided to open up 2 additional spots.  The cost is $50 and all proceeds go towards blessing a family or families in need during the Christmas season.  I will take the first 2 people that email me (info@mallorykriegerphotography.com) or post a comment….whichever comes first! Oh–I almost forgot–you also will get the DVD of all final images so you can print from them or order cards from wherever you want….however…..
